NVIDIA is reportedly ending production of its flagship GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 SUPER graphics cards by the end of October 2024, leading to limited availability and higher prices. This move is likely to make way for the launch of the next-generation GeForce RTX 50 series in January 2025.
NVIDIA is giving away two custom GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition graphics cards, one themed after Black Myth: Wukong and the other after Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as part of its #GeForceSummer of RTX 2024 promotion.
Chinese cloud companies are offering heavily modded versions of the GeForce RTX 4090D and RTX 4080 SUPER with doubled VRAM, renting them out at affordable hourly rates. These modded GPUs are proving popular for AI workloads, with the RTX 4080 SUPER with 32GB of VRAM going for just $0.03 per hour.
