Climeworks Unveils Record-Breaking Carbon Capture Plant in Iceland

Climeworks, a pioneer in carbon capture technology, has launched a massive direct air capture and storage (DAC+S) plant in Iceland. The Mammoth plant, ten times larger than Climeworks’ previous facility, has the capacity to remove up to 36,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the air annually. ONGC to Commence Drilling for India’s First Geothermal Project in June

Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) is all set to commence a new drilling initiative in June for India’s first geothermal venture in Ladakh. The project aims to establish a sustainable source for emission-free electricity, space heating, and irrigation in challenging landscapes. If the project progresses smoothly, a power plant with a minimum capacity of 1 MW will be established by the following year. ONGC is receiving guidance from consultants based in Iceland, a nation that relies on geothermal energy for two-thirds of its primary energy needs.

Governor Polis to Visit Costa Rica for 2024

Governor Jared Polis will embark on a trip to Costa Rica this week for the 2024 gathering. During his absence, Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera will assume the role of acting governor. The purpose of Polis’s visit is to foster collaboration in areas such as agriculture, geothermal energy, and small businesses. The governor’s office reported that Colorado and Costa Rica exchanged approximately $58 million worth of goods in the previous year.
