Arrest Made in Peterborough Golf Merchandise Theft

One arrest has been made in connection with an alleged “distraction theft” of $20,000 worth of golf merchandise from a Peterborough store on May 7. The incident involved three individuals, including a woman who exited the store with the merchandise without paying, followed by two men. Subsequent investigation revealed a similar scam attempt at another golf equipment store. Through investigation, one suspect was identified, leading to the arrest of a 32-year-old man from Ajax, Ontario. Charged with theft over $5,000, the suspect was released on an undertaking and is set to appear in court on June 11. The search for the remaining two suspects is ongoing.
