Google Podcasts to Shut Down Outside of the US in June

Google Podcasts, a popular podcast app with millions of users worldwide, will shut down for everyone outside of the US in June. The app’s closure comes as part of Google’s efforts to turn YouTube into an all-in-one destination for podcasts, music, and video. Google has said it will help podcast creators with the switch to YouTube Music, but users may be reluctant to move away from the familiar titles they’ve grown to love on Google Podcasts.

Google Podcasts to Shut Down for International Users

Google Podcasts is shutting down for international users in mid-to-late June 2024. The migration to YouTube Music and OPML file export will be available until July 29, 2024. The wind down process may occur region-by-region or all at once. YouTube Music lacks crucial podcasting features that were promised in December, prompting concerns about the transition.
