CPS Energy, the largest municipally owned utility in the US, has signed contracts for 350 MW of battery energy storage, bringing its total contracted capacity to 400 MW. This move supports the utility’s Vision 2027 plan to ensure reliable and affordable energy for its growing community. The new projects, located in South Bexar County, Texas, will be operational by the first half of 2026 and are expected to contribute to grid resilience and economic development.
GenCell Energy, a leading provider of hydrogen-to-power solutions, has secured a significant order from Mexico’s state-owned utility Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) for additional GenCell REXTM backup power units. This order follows an initial contract signed in December 2023 and demonstrates the strategic partnership between CFE and GenCell to enhance grid resilience and transition to clean energy.
