The Maldives is set to experience a significant tourism boost in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll with the completion of the Hanimaadhoo International Airport in March 2025. This new airport, funded by India’s Exim Bank, will facilitate the addition of 4,000 new tourist beds, significantly increasing the region’s tourism capacity. The government’s commitment to expanding tourism infrastructure in the atoll includes the designation of land for resort development and the introduction of islands to potential investors, further fueling the anticipated growth in the sector.
