Fire at Hastings Biker Gang Clubhouse Under Investigation by OPP and Ontario Fire Marshal

On Thursday, May 30th, 2024, an investigation was launched by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) regarding a fire that occurred at a biker gang clubhouse in the village of Hastings, southeast of Peterborough. The incident was reported to the Trent Hills Fire Department shortly before 1 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the building engulfed in flames. While no injuries were reported, the structure sustained significant damage. The building has been associated with motorcycle clubs and gangs in the past. Despite attempts by the OPP to conceal signage on the building in a released photo, images obtained by Global News revealed the presence of “Rock Machine MC” and “Enter with Respect” signs on the facade. Historical Google Street View imagery also showed the building adorned with “Rebels Canada” signage in November 2023. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The OPP is appealing to the public for any relevant information that could assist in their inquiries. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge are encouraged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, their local police department, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or stopcrimehere.ca.
