The coalition, known as Our Community | Our Hospital, is calling on elected officials to assist in securing new hospital owners, emphasizing the importance of maintaining healthcare access for over 200,000 people in Steward zones. State officials have been critical of Steward’s management and are exploring contingency plans to ensure healthcare service continuity. The coalition’s standouts will take place at Steward hospitals in Taunton, Brockton, Methuen, Haverhill, Fall River, Dorchester, and Brighton, with a petition demanding the transition of Steward hospitals to non-profit ownership and a commitment to uninterrupted service provision.

Ayushman Bharat Diwas: Celebrating the Transformation of Healthcare in India

The Ayushman Bharat Scheme, introduced in 2018, has marked a significant milestone in healthcare access and affordability in India. Through its two core components – Primary Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) and Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) – the scheme aims to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent individuals from receiving quality healthcare. AB-PMJAY provides health insurance coverage to vulnerable households, covering a range of medical treatments up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year. HWCs, on the other hand, strengthen the primary healthcare system by bringing essential services closer to underserved and rural areas.
