Journalist Fights Unjust Helmet Fine for Driving a Car in India

Uttar Pradesh Man Fined for Driving Audi Without Helmet

Bahadur Singh Parihar, a resident of Jhansi, received a 1,000 challan for driving his Audi car without a helmet. The challan was issued by the Uttar Pradesh traffic police even though the vehicle category mentioned was ‘motor car’. Despite the error, Parihar has chosen to wear a helmet while driving his car to avoid further fines. The police have stated that they will address the issue after the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Springfield Man Killed in Scooter Crash

A 35-year-old Springfield man died Sunday night after crashing a scooter near the corner of High and School streets. The man, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of his death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is investigating the incident.
