A funeral service will be held on Friday, and the family invites all Australians to attend. The family has also collaborated with the Red Cross to organize a blood drive in Tahir’s honor.
Barbers Osvaldo Lugo and Rafael Santana of Looks Sharp Barbershop in East Hartford rescued a child from running into heavy traffic. The incident occurred at the intersection of Brown and Main, a busy area near Pratt Whitney, Coca-Cola facilities, and an I-84 on-ramp. Lugo and Santana noticed the child and quickly intervened, with one of them grabbing the child just feet from traffic. Despite his heroics, Lugo modestly attributes his actions to being in the right place at the right time, while police express gratitude for their efforts.
A regular Tuesday lunch break turned into an act of heroism for Lasaros Milian of Syracuse. While waiting at a red light, an SUV careened off the road and into a retention pond, trapping the elderly female driver inside the submerged vehicle. Milian, along with Tom Drumm, didn’t hesitate to jump into the icy water and assist in the rescue. They pried open the car door as water rushed in, successfully freeing the woman and carrying her back to safety. The rescued woman was transported to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation, while Milian returned to his job as a fence installer. The heroic actions of these bystanders prevented a potentially tragic outcome.
Olivia Patterson, a six-year-old girl from North Yorkshire, England, alerted her family to a house fire on April 4, 2023, saving their lives.
