Westhill High Girls Host Spring Break Invitational

The Westhill girls outdoor track team, accompanied by the boys team, will host their annual Spring Break Invitational on Tuesday. The event will feature athletes from various nearby schools competing in a range of track and field events. The invitational is a highly anticipated event that showcases the athleticism and camaraderie within the Section III high school sports community.

Monday’s Top High School Performances

In Monday’s high school sports action, several athletes stood out with impressive performances across softball, baseball, and volleyball.

In softball, Lyla Baxter of Green Valley led the charge with a 4-for-4 performance, including a home run and six RBIs. Ava Henderson of Arbor View and Andie Woods of Moapa Valley also showcased their hitting prowess with multiple hits and home runs.

On the baseball field, Caden Kirby of Green Valley and Brady Paulson of Rancho had notable performances. Kirby notched a double and two RBIs, while Paulson struck out all nine batters he faced in a no-hitter.

In volleyball, Kapono Amor of Bonanza and Aiden Camacho of Coronado led their teams in kills and digs, respectively. Isaiah Moore of Legacy contributed with assists, kills, and blocks, while Maruli Panjaitan of Virgin Valley tallied assists and aces.

Overall, it was an exciting day for high school sports in the region, with athletes showcasing their talent and determination.

Randolph’s Connor Stokoe Delivers Walk-Off Single for 10-9 Win over Pope John

Randolph High School senior Connor Stokoe’s focus on shortening his approach at the plate paid off with a game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Rams to a 10-9 victory over Pope John in a Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference division matchup. Stokoe’s heroics came after Pope John had staged a furious rally in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 9. The win improves Randolph’s record to 11-1, while Pope John falls to 5-7.
