109-Year-Old Senate Hall of Allahabad University to Regain Former Glory with Rs 15 Crore Restoration Project

The iconic Senate Hall building of Allahabad University’s Arts campus, constructed over a century ago, is set to undergo a comprehensive restoration project to revive its historical grandeur. The Higher Education Finance Agency (HEFA) has approved a budget of Rs 15.44 crore for the restoration work, with 90% of the amount being subsidized. The project aims to restore the broken glass panes, stonework, and intricate woodwork to their original beauty. The magnificent building, designed by Sir Swinton Jacob, also features a clock tower that will be restored to functionality.
