The incident took place near the 10000 block of 46th Street northeast at approximately 12:30 a.m. after a dispute between several individuals escalated. The pedestrian was standing on the road when he was struck by a newer-model Jeep driven by another man in his 20s. The impact knocked the victim to the ground and dragged him a short distance. Despite the severity of the injuries, the victim was transported to the hospital by his friends. The driver of the Jeep fled the scene, and police have indicated that speed and impairment are not suspected to be factors in the collision.

A woman from Northeast Philadelphia named Omobolanle Paige has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide for allegedly running her car into five people outside a ShopRite grocery store. All but one of the five victims were women and they all sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Three of the women had to be hospitalized but the fourth woman and a 74-year-old male were treated at the scene. Paige was arrested at the scene and formally charged on Tuesday. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Friday.
Jesus Zamudio, a longtime baker at Bob’s Donuts in San Francisco, remains in critical condition after being struck by a car while riding his electric scooter on his way to work on Sunday morning. The driver of the car fled the scene, and police are actively searching for them. Zamudio’s injuries are life-threatening, and he has a wife and two children in Mexico who depend on him. A Long Island woman, 21-year-old Brianna Lodice, was driving a Kia and struck a Nissan Altima in Massapequa on Tuesday night, killing the 64-year-old female driver of the Nissan. A 46-year-old female passenger in the Nissan suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Lodice fled the scene after the crash but was arrested a short time later. She has been charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, third-degree grand larceny, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while intoxicated.
A 25-year-old woman, Tiffany Treanor-Johnson, has been charged in connection with the death of cyclist Harry Webb in Hackney last year. Webb, a 27-year-old music student, died after sustaining injuries in a collision on Kenworthy Road. Treanor-Johnson is accused of failing to stop after the collision and crashing into another vehicle.
Police have apprehended David Ferrari, 35, of Haddam, for his alleged involvement in a New Year’s Eve crash in Rocky Hill that left one individual in critical condition. Ferrari is suspected of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, reckless driving, operating while under suspension, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, and first-degree reckless endangerment. Despite wearing a GPS bracelet due to pending court cases, Ferrari is accused of removing it and fleeing the state. He was arrested with the assistance of law enforcement from other regions and faces $3.5 million in bonds. In addition to the charges related to the crash, Ferrari faces three counts of failure to appear in connection with his pending cases in Middletown.

A Surrey firefighter was hit by a pickup truck while walking home from a neighbor’s house on Sunday afternoon. Quennell suffered only minor injuries, but his family has experienced the deadly nature of local roads before. In December 2019, his mother-in-law was struck and killed by a vehicle while using a crosswalk at 192 Street and 80 Avenue. Quennell says he is upset that he cannot walk safely in front of his own home and has spoken with the city several times about the need to slow down vehicles or create a path for pedestrians. A motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries after an alleged hit-and-run incident in Liverpool, New South Wales.
