Laurence Fox Ordered to Pay £180,000 in Damages for Homophobic Libel

Actor-turned-politician Laurence Fox has been ordered to pay a total of £180,000 in damages to former Stonewall trustee Simon Blake and drag artist Crystal over homophobic libel on Twitter. The judge in the case ruled that Fox’s tweets, in which he called Blake and Seymour ‘paedophiles,’ were ‘gross, groundless and indefensible.’ The judge also ordered Fox to not repeat the allegations against Blake and Seymour on pain of being found guilty of contempt of court.
