Saskatchewan’s Tourism Industry Soaring, Statistics Canada Reports

Tourism expenditures in Saskatchewan are experiencing a significant upward trend according to the latest data from Statistics Canada. The province witnessed a notable increase in travel spending, hotel occupancy rates, and revenue compared to the previous year. The growth is attributed to various factors, including outdoor recreational attractions, hunting and fishing opportunities, and the return of festivals and events.

Paris 2024 Olympics: Hotel Rates Drop Significantly

With just three months to go before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, hotel rates have continued to fall, according to data from Lighthouse, a hotel market analyst. Average nightly rates have dropped from over €800 last September to below €500 currently, with three-star properties seeing a 9% decline and four-star hotels a 8% decrease in the last 30 days. Despite the drop, five-star luxury establishments have held prices slightly better, falling by 6%. Overall, hotel rates in Paris during the Olympics are still 95 percent higher than at the same time in 2023.
