A 22-year-old man named Girish, also known as Vishwa, has been arrested by the Karnataka Police for the murder of a 20-year-old woman, Anjali Ambiger, in Hubballi on Wednesday. The victim’s family alleges that they had informed the police about the accused’s threats against the victim, who was stabbed to death at her home in Veerapur Oni. Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar stated that the accused will be taken into custody after receiving medical treatment for severe facial and head injuries. A police inspector and a woman head constable have been suspended for dereliction of duty in connection with the incident. The murder comes after the recent stabbing death of another young woman, Neha Hiremath, by her former classmate in Hubballi in April.
