The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF) and the National Association of State Park Foundations (NASPF) are teaming up to celebrate ‘I Love My State Parks Week’ from May 12-19, 2024. This nationwide event showcases the significant contributions of state parks to the economy and community wellness. State parks across the U.S. draw millions of visitors annually, generating substantial revenue for local and state economies. In Pennsylvania alone, state parks welcomed nearly 40 million visitors in 2023, adding over $14 billion to the state’s GDP. Beyond economic benefits, state parks offer a plethora of outdoor activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional health. Participate in a variety of events at over 8,500 state parks nationwide, including a highlight event at Little Buffalo State Park in Newport, PA, on May 14th, honoring park stewardship. Join the celebration on social media using #ILoveMyStateParksWeek and engage with NASPF, PPFF, and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Together, we can express gratitude for our state parks and their caretakers.
