The onset of the monsoon in the southern peninsula is bringing heavy rainfall to Kerala and other adjacent areas, while eastern states will also experience downpour due to another branch of the monsoon. The IMD has also forecast lightning, hail, and squally winds in places over Uttarakhand and at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal & Sikkim, and Bihar.
