Heavy Rains Forecast Across 10 Indian States: IMD Issues Alerts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in 10 states across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Kerala and Maharashtra. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Uttar Pradesh and yellow alerts for the other states, with the heaviest rainfall expected on September 28.

Mumbai Batters Heavy Rainfall, Red Alerts Issued For Multiple Districts

Mumbai and surrounding areas experienced heavy rainfall, lightning, and thunderstorms on Wednesday evening, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue red alerts for several districts. The IMD has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Pune for September 25th, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall with gusty winds. The heavy rain also caused traffic disruptions and waterlogging in the city.
