Marine Atlantic to Enhance Fleet with New Vessel by 2024

Marine Atlantic will add a new vessel to its fleet by 2024, increasing capacity and enhancing the passenger experience. The new vessel will accommodate up to 1000 passengers and crew, including 146 passenger cabins and 40 innovative two-berth “pods”. The addition of the new ship, which will be chartered from Stena North Sea, will not lead to an increase in passenger costs. The vessel will feature advanced green technology, including dual-fuel technology and batteries, to reduce its environmental impact. It will also offer pet-friendly cabins and sleeping pods to address passenger feedback. Marine Atlantic plans to increase the frequency of crossings to meet the growing demand for interprovincial travel.
