Tesla, the electric car manufacturer led by Elon Musk, has yet to communicate any plans to the Indian government under the new Electric Vehicle (EV) policy. This comes despite the planned visit of Musk to India in April, which was later postponed due to commitments at Tesla. The government has expressed its openness to all companies, including Tesla, to participate in the EV policy but has not received any formal communication from the automaker. Tesla has not responded to an email query from the news agency PTI regarding its plans. Earlier, Musk had confirmed his visit to India and intended to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Tesla’s potential entry into the Indian market. However, the exact plans for a manufacturing unit or the strategy for selling Tesla cars in India remain unknown.
