India Braces for Heavy Rainfall as Monsoon Advances

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a series of weather alerts across India, predicting heavy rainfall in various regions. Delhi is under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall until July 1, while Sikkim and West Bengal are under a red alert for exceptionally intense rainfall. Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are under an orange alert, signifying significant precipitation. The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and southeast Rajasthan.

India’s Spectrum Auction Starts Slowly, Telecom Operators Bid ₹11,000 Crore on Day One

The first spectrum auction in India after two years began on Tuesday with telecom operators bidding a total of ₹11,000 crore for 150 Mhz of spectrum. This is significantly lower than the ₹96,320 crore worth of airwaves on offer. While bidding is expected to continue for the remaining bands, the initial response suggests a more subdued auction compared to the record-breaking 2022 sale.
