Indian Golfers Eye Paris Olympics: Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar Lead Charge

Indian golfers Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar, Shubhankar Sharma, and Gaganjeet Bhullar are set to participate in the Paris Olympics, each vying to make their mark on the global stage. Ashok, who has the most Olympic appearances among Indians, will be making her third appearance, while Dagar will be competing for the second time. Sharma and Bhullar, meanwhile, will be making their Olympic debuts. Qualification for the Olympics is determined by rankings, with the top 60 men and women eligible through the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). While the United States has four or more golfers in the top 15, other countries can send a maximum of two players provided they are in the top 60. Despite a modest 2024 season so far, Aditi remains in the top 50 of the women’s rankings, while Dagar has been in top form with three top-10 finishes in five starts on the Ladies European Tour. Among Indian men, Sharma has a best finish of tied-seventh at the Singapore Classic, while Bhullar won once at the Chandigarh Open on the Indian Tour. With the Olympics approaching, these Indian golfers will look to continue their strong performances and secure their spots in the prestigious sporting event.
