Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha has defended the IOA-appointed medical team, led by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, amidst the controversy surrounding wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification for failing to make weight. Usha emphasized that athletes are ultimately responsible for their weight management and that the medical team’s role is to provide support and assistance. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will deliver its verdict on Vinesh Phogat’s appeal for a joint-silver medal on August 13.
