Long Grove Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 65

Inkwon Seol, a 44-year-old man from Long Grove, Illinois, succumbed to multiple blunt force trauma injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred just south of the ramp to I-80/94 when a Chevrolet HHR rear-ended Seol’s Hyundai Elantra, causing it to collide with a Dodge Ram pickup. Seol was pronounced dead at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart around 3:38 p.m. The crash led to significant traffic delays due to the investigation and crash reconstruction. Notably, the incident also coincided with a police pursuit that ended near the crash site, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.

Former Aurora Farmer’s Fair Treasurer Charged with Theft After Stealing Over $70,000

Former treasurer of the Aurora Farmer’s Fair, 54-year-old Scott A. Petty, has been charged with theft after an investigation by Indiana State Police revealed he stole over $70,000 from the Fair’s bank accounts. The investigation, launched in March after reports of missing funds, found that Petty made numerous unauthorized purchases using the Fair’s credit card and bank account, including personal vacations, bills, car payments, and other miscellaneous items.
