A medical helicopter crash in Ohio in 2022 has sparked a lawsuit from three individuals seeking compensation for injuries and damages. Flight nurses Lisa McPhillips and Erin Monroe sustained significant injuries in the incident, while McPhillips’ husband, Justin, is also suing due to the loss of benefits resulting from his wife’s injuries. The trio is suing the pilot, Air Methods Corporation, Milford Township, and several fire departments and firefighters. The lawsuit alleges that the pilot violated safety protocols by failing to perform a 360-degree reconnaissance before landing, resulting in a collision with high-tension power lines. McPhillips suffered severe spinal injuries, while Monroe sustained personal injuries and emotional distress. The plaintiffs are seeking full compensation, reimbursement for expenses, and a jury trial.
