According to Downdetector, an outage tracking website, there were over 18,000 reports indicating issues with Instagram, with 59% of users experiencing app access problems. Downdetector tracks outages based on status reports from multiple sources, including user reports. On Twitter, users reported encountering error messages such as “Something went wrong” and “error loading media” when attempting to access the apps. NetBlocks, an internet monitoring group, noted that both social media websites were experiencing international outages. The platform confirmed that the incident was not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering. The outage sparked reactions from users on Twitter, who expressed frustration and humor.
