Heatwave Alert: IMD Issues Warnings for Eastern India, Parts of South

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heatwave conditions across parts of India. A ‘Red Alert’ has been issued for Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Bihar, indicating severe heatwave conditions expected to last for several days. Telangana, interior Karnataka, and coastal Andhra Pradesh have been placed under an ‘Orange Alert’, with heatwave warnings issued for the next 4-5 days. Eastern India, including Jharkhand, is anticipated to experience intense heat waves, while Peninsular India will face slightly less severe conditions.
