Svitlana Bilous and other relatives of Ukrainian soldiers are attending an international peace summit in Switzerland to raise awareness about the thousands of troops who have disappeared on the battlefield in Ukraine. The families are demanding that Russia hand over information on the missing soldiers, improve the conditions of any captives, and send them home. Russia is not invited to the summit, but the families hope that the other world powers present will find ways to pressure Moscow to cooperate. The summit comes as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says it is trying to get information on the fate of 28,000 people – soldiers and civilians on both sides – who have lost contact with their families.
