Karachi’s Main Roads Reopen After Closure for Iranian President’s Visit

Karachi’s main thoroughfares, including Shahrae Faisal and MA Jinnah Road, have reopened to traffic after being closed for security reasons during Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi’s visit. However, a portion of Sharea Faisal remains closed from the FTC flyover onwards, and some link roads are still partially closed. Gas stations along Sharea Faisal remain shuttered.

Traffic authorities had earlier issued an alternative route plan to guide citizens during the road closures. A comprehensive security plan involving over 3,800 police officers and officials was implemented to ensure the safety of the visiting dignitaries.

The security deployment was concentrated in various zones of Karachi, with District East having 345 officers, District West having 164 officers, and District South having over 300 officers.

Karachi Roads Closed for Iranian President’s Visit

Several roads in Karachi will remain closed till 7pm on Tuesday due to Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to the city. Mobile phone services have also been suspended in some areas. The traffic plan includes the closure of MA Jinnah Road, Sharea Faisal, and Sharea Quaideen. Citizens are advised to take alternative routes and contact the traffic helpline 1915 for assistance.

Iranian President Pays Respects at Allama Iqbal’s Mausoleum in Lahore

Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi paid tribute to the renowned poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal by visiting his mausoleum in Lahore. Raisi arrived in Lahore, warmly welcomed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He will also visit GC University Lahore and hold meetings with CM Maryam and Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman. President Raisi will later travel to Karachi, where he will meet Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Before concluding his visit, he will pay homage at Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi.
