Chennai ISPs Pay Up 1.1 Crore to Keep Excess Cables After GCC Crackdown

Internet service providers in Chennai have paid over 1.1 crore to retain their excess cables after the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) conducted a crackdown on illegal cables. GCC cut over 50 km of cables, including those belonging to companies with dues and those loosely tied around streetlights and trees. The corporation also plans to set up more poles for internet cables, especially in North Chennai areas.
