Fritz, along with other players like Denis Shapovalov, believe the rule change will detract from the sport’s inherent one-on-one nature. The ITF, however, maintains the change is in the best interests of the sport, citing support from players, coaches, and officials.

Indian tennis player Vaidehi Chaudhari secured a spot in the pre-quarterfinals of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, defeating Monique Barry of New Zealand. Chaudhari also advanced to the doubles semifinals alongside Shrivalli Bhamidipaty.
