Sahaja Yamalapalli, a 23-year-old tennis player from Telangana, India, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the new No. 1 ranked women’s tennis player in India. Following her recent ITF title win, she has emulated her state-mate and former top player, Sania Mirza. Yamalapalli is focused on improving her World ranking and aims to participate in major events, including Grand Slams. She is also working on improving her skills on clay courts, aiming to become a complete player on all surfaces.
