A major avalanche has occurred in the Sarbal region of Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday. The avalanche, coinciding with intense rain and snowfall, has caused no injuries or financial damage as it impacted an uninhabited forest area in Sonamarg. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced the construction of a Maharashtra Bhavan in Jammu and Kashmir. The project received the support of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, ensuring that no opposition will be tolerated. The Maharashtra government has acquired land in Kashmir for the construction, which will provide accommodations and facilities for tourists and officials visiting the Valley. Following the killing of a civilian by suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities have detained 67 individuals for questioning. Police have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to the apprehension of the suspect, who is described as a 32-year-old wearing a traditional Pathani suit with a brown shawl and carrying an orange bag. Credible evidence has established Hamza’s involvement in the attack, and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend all individuals connected to the terrorist act.
