Joe Schoen’s Meticulous Draft Preparation: A Draft Board Whispering Strategy

Joe Schoen, general manager of the Giants, anticipates a restful night before the NFL Draft, confident in his team’s preparation. Despite the absence of a vocal draft board, Schoen emphasizes the importance of a well-defined process and meticulous planning. While his previous draft evaluations have yielded mixed results, Schoen remains steadfast in his approach, seeking talent through a collaborative and thorough analysis. By carefully considering player stacks, discrepancies, and personnel utilization, Schoen aims to make informed decisions on draft day, alleviating the pressure and anxiety associated with the event.

Giants Open to All Scenarios Ahead of 2024 NFL Draft

The New York Giants have released their draft board and are open to all possibilities with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. General manager Joe Schoen has been in contact with general managers around the league and is prepared to make decisions once the clock starts running. The Giants own one selection in each of the first six rounds and are without a seventh-round pick. Schoen has made trades in each of his first two drafts with the Giants, but don’t expect the Giants to slide back significantly on Thursday. The pre-draft work will continue through Wednesday night and up until the clock begins on the No. 1 pick Thursday night.
