Portland State University’s athletic director, John Johnson, has announced his resignation. The resignation will become effective on April 30th. Deputy athletic director Matt Billings will take over as interim athletic director, according to President Ann Cudd. Johnson stated that he needs to be closer to his family. Johnson has been with the university for two years and has spent 40 years working in collegiate athletics. He has held athletic director positions at Eastern Washington, Weber State, and Portland State.
