Kalamazoo River Cleanup Yields Over 6,000 Pounds of Trash

Volunteers collected a staggering 6,000 pounds of trash from a 6-mile stretch of the Kalamazoo River during a cleanup event held on April 20th. The event was organized by the Rotary Club of Kalamazoo and Michigan Waterways Stewards, and brought together 232 volunteers from 40 different organizations across the state. Over the course of the week, the cleanup efforts yielded a total of 8,900 pounds of trash, demonstrating the commitment of the community to preserving the Kalamazoo River.
