Kennywood Sued Over Closed Roller Coaster

A season ticket holder has filed a lawsuit against Kennywood amusement park in Western Pennsylvania, alleging that the park withheld information about the closure of its Steel Curtain roller coaster for the 2024 season. The lawsuit claims that Kennywood and its parent company enticed customers to purchase season passes under the assumption that the roller coaster would be operational. However, the park allegedly knew in advance that the coaster would be closed but concealed that information to avoid losing business. The lawsuit argues that these actions violate the state’s unfair trade practices and consumer protection laws. The plaintiff, Joshua Miller, is seeking $100 per violation for himself and anyone else who purchased a 2024 season pass prior to the announcement of the closure.
