The National Commission for Women (NCW) has demanded action from Delhi Police against a user for allegedly making a ‘lewd’ comment on the widow of Captain Anshuman Singh, a Kirti Chakra awardee. The NCW cited violations of the Information Technology Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and requested the Delhi Police to arrest the accused within three days.
Captain Anshuman Singh, who tragically lost his life in a fire incident in Siachen last year, was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest gallantry award, by President Droupadi Murmu. Singh’s wife, Smriti, shared a moving account of their love story and his unwavering commitment to serving his country.
