Lafayette 148’s Resort 2023 collection draws inspiration from the restoration of an 18th-century Venetian painting by Giulia Lama. Creative director Emily Smith and her team delve into the Baroque era and surrounding culture, incorporating intricate details and contrasting textures into their designs. Metallic floral jacquards, pearl embroidery, and latticework evoke the patina and restored brilliance of the painting, while plissé tunics and trousers in a vibrant blue reminiscent of Venetian lagoons add a touch of whimsy.
