The BJP has accused Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his son, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, of a ‘scam’ involving land allotted to a trust run by the Kharge family. The BJP is demanding a CBI investigation and Priyank Kharge’s dismissal from the cabinet. The Congress has defended the land allocation, claiming it was done legally.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has challenged the Governor’s order to prosecute him in an alleged land scam case, calling it a politically motivated attack. Congress leader Ramesh Babu has also appealed to the President to intervene, highlighting the unconstitutionality of the Governor’s action.
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has granted permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with a land allotment scam by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The decision follows petitions alleging that Siddaramaiah’s wife received alternative sites in a prime area in exchange for illegally acquired land. Siddaramaiah has denied the allegations.
