The Department of Defense (DoD) made a social media blunder on Saturday when it mistakenly mixed up Pride Month and PTSD Awareness Month. In a since-deleted tweet, the Pentagon urged followers to “Celebrate Pride Month” alongside a graphic featuring the Progress Pride Flag. However, the accompanying text highlighted PTSD Awareness Month’s importance and the availability of support for affected individuals. Social media users quickly pointed out the error, leading to the tweet’s removal and replacement with a corrected graphic. Despite reaching a limited number of followers, the incident sparked criticism from some users who saw it as an example of misplaced priorities.
