Queen City Pride Cancels Provincial Flag-Raising, Excludes Saskatchewan Party from Celebrations

Queen City Pride has announced that it will not be holding its annual flag-raising ceremony at the Provincial Legislative Building in Regina due to the actions of the current Saskatchewan government. The organization does not believe that the government is an ally of the LGBTQ2S+ community and does not feel that it would be appropriate for the government to take part in such an important event. The organization’s decision comes after the government passed Bill 137, also known as the Parents’ Bill of Rights, in October 2023, and invoked the notwithstanding clause to pass it. The organization believes that the government’s actions are not in line with the values of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
