Sanjoy Roy, the prime accused in the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, underwent a lie detector test on Sunday. The test, conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), comes after Roy previously claimed innocence and stated that the test would prove his innocence. Two more individuals will also undergo the test at the CBI office in Kolkata, while four others, including the hospital’s former principal, underwent the test on Saturday. Roy’s arrest followed the discovery of the doctor’s body in a seminar hall, with CCTV footage and a Bluetooth headphone linking him to the crime.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been granted permission by the Calcutta High Court to conduct lie detector tests on four colleagues of the deceased doctor in the Kolkata rape and murder case. These colleagues, who had dinner with the victim on the day of the incident, have given contradictory statements, raising suspicions about their involvement. The CBI aims to understand if they have any role in tampering with evidence and what transpired in the hours leading up to the doctor’s death.
