Tuesday’s high school baseball and softball action featured some surprising results, including St. Francis’ upset win over Serra. St. Francis senior Tysen Ellis had a double and triple, driving in three runs. Fellow senior Luke DeVine went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and sophomore Gino Cappellazzo scored twice. Chris Han pitched five solid innings, giving up just one run and striking out three. Benicia also had a dominant victory over Acalanes, while Stanford commit Quinten Marsh pitched another gem for Valley Christian. In softball, Gianna Crouch had five RBIs for Lincoln in a win over Piedmont Hills, and Alexis Kuka threw a two-hit complete game for Hillsdale against San Mateo.

Overfelt High School’s Daijaah Jones and Mya Eti put on an offensive clinic, leading the Royals to a mercy-rule victory over James Lick. San Ramon Valley also dominated with a mercy-rule win, while Berean Christian, Burlingame, Milpitas, Lincoln, Terra Nova, Monte Vista, and California all claimed victories. Mt. Eden rallied to defeat winless Mission San Jose.
