Five Hospitalized, One with Serious Injuries, in Highway 7 Collision

Five individuals were transported to hospitals following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Lindsay, Ontario, on Monday morning. The incident, involving a car and an SUV, occurred around 11:13 a.m., resulting in road closures and a thorough investigation by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP. Four individuals were taken to Ross Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, while one person sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Toronto hospital. Two Men Arrested in Lindsay Drug Raid

Two men from Lindsay, Ontario, are facing multiple drug trafficking charges after a raid on a home in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police seized a quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of $5,200 during the raid, which was executed with the assistance of the OPP’s tactics and rescue unit, emergency response team, and community street crime unit. The two men, ages 35 and 41, were arrested and each charged with possession of a Schedule 1 and a Schedule 2 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, other opioid). They were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court in Lindsay.

Workshop Fire North of Lindsay Causes $450,000 in Damage

A workshop fire on a farm north of Lindsay, Ontario, on Tuesday night caused an estimated $450,000 in damage, but no injuries were reported. Firefighters responded to the blaze on County Road 36 around 11:45 p.m. and found a fire in a workshop and implement shed containing custom-cut cedar lumber. They believe the fire started in a tractor and then spread, damaging the building and its contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
