Ride-hailing service Rapido has launched its “SawaariZimmedariKi” campaign, offering complimentary bike taxi, auto, and cab rides to differently-abled and senior citizen voters across Karnataka. Residents of Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru can access free transportation to and from polling stations on April 26th by using the code ‘VOTENOW’. This initiative is part of Rapido’s efforts to promote civic engagement and ensure equitable access to voting for all citizens.
The electioneering for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 has concluded, marking the commencement of a 48-hour silence period before polling. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a massive rally in Agra on Thursday as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for the elections. The 40-day long Lok Sabha election campaign in Kerala ended on Wednesday, with political parties wrapping up their constituency visits and gearing up for roadshows on the last day. The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the Kollam constituency in Kerala. Voting will take place on April 26th (Phase 2), and the results will be declared on June 4th. Prominent candidates in the Kollam Lok Sabha Constituency include G Krishnakumar from Bharatiya Janata Party, M Mukesh from Communist Party of India (Marxist), and N K Premachandran from Revolutionary Socialist Party.
The second phase of Lok Sabha elections for 2024 will be held on Friday, April 26. A total of 89 constituencies across 13 states will be voting, including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir. Additionally, assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha will take place on May 13.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for resorting to divisive politics and ignoring the pressing concerns of the people. Yadav called on Modi to abandon politics of hatred and address issues like poverty, unemployment, and inflation.
