Bengaluru Sizzles: Temperature Soars to 37.6°C, Second Highest in History

Bengaluru experienced extreme heat on Tuesday, with the maximum temperature reaching 37.6°C, the second highest ever recorded in the city. This heatwave, coinciding with Lok Sabha polling, is a cause for concern, as temperatures are expected to rise further and reach 39°C. The lack of monsoon rains and cloudy weather is contributing to the intense heat conditions. Scientists warn that it is unlikely Bengaluru will receive rain in the near future, but hope for rainfall in May to alleviate the heat.
