A young boy was surprised to receive a first birthday card that arrived nearly nine years after it was initially sent. The card was sent by his aunt in October 2015, but it was somehow lost in the mail until recently. The boy’s father was initially puzzled when he received a postcard from Royal Mail stating that the card had insufficient postage. He paid a £2.50 fee to have the card delivered and was shocked to find a belated birthday greeting for his son. The family received a £10 apology from Royal Mail, and the boy was delighted to finally have a first birthday card to open and read.
