Paul Skenes’ Scoreless Streak Ends at 14 1/3 Innings

Paul Skenes, the Pirates’ top pitching prospect, saw his scoreless innings streak come to an end at 14 1/3 frames on Wednesday. The LSU product allowed two runs – only one of which was earned — in 4 ⅓ innings of work. Despite the setback, Skenes still struck out seven batters and threw a season-high 71 pitches. The outing was the first that Skenes had gone beyond four innings in his professional career. The No. 1 overall draft pick in 2023, Skenes averaged 99.2 mph on his four-seam fastball Wednesday and hit at least 100 mph on two of his pitches in what ended up being a 7-4 win for Indianapolis.

Daniels also acknowledged his relationships with Raiders coach Antonio Pierce and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, who have a history with mobile quarterbacks.

Falcons Draft Rumors: Brian Thomas of LSU Added to Mock Draft

The Atlanta Falcons may be targeting a wide receiver with their 8th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Yahoo! Sports’ Nate Tice has the Falcons selecting LSU wideout Brian Thomas, despite the team’s need for a pass rusher. Thomas has the potential to excel on the outside, complementing Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore. While a receiver may not seem like the most pressing need, the Falcons could prioritize adding another offensive weapon to their already-impressive lineup.
